Compelling, intriguing and more than worth the effort, Twelve Monkey’s really defies genre selection and really has to be experienced.
Archive for the “drama” CategoryBody of Lies is a reasonably good action-thriller with some strong performances and interesting context, let down by a soft-ending. A slow start and a much more serious underlying message set this Kevin Smith movie apart of the his previous fair, but it delivers in the end. An intelligent and emotional love story which delivers an incisive and revealing look at relationships, gender choice and our sexual history without pandering to the usual stereotypes or insulting the viewer. An excellent and compelling dual story of rebellion in Fascist Spain at the end of the second World War and a young girl’s faerie tale escapism in which you must decide to believe or not.

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking BarrelsPosted by tony in 1998, action, comedy, drama, review, tvThis witty and well paced film keeps you engaged from start to finish and delivers interesting characters, dialog and good black-comic moments. This superb dramatic action flick and absolute darkest Batman movie to-date doesn’t live up to the impossible hype but still delivers an excellent and entertaining 2 and a half hours of dramatic quality movie going fun. A very high quality movie that doesn’t fit well in any single genre, brings together a superb cast, gives them a superb script, and ultimately lets you down at the end. |
