An overly long missed opportunity that could have done a much better job at telling us a story and instead opted to skirt around all the stuff that made the book dark and thrilling.

Decent production values, reasonable special effects and a better than average first half make Outlander worth watching despite being let down by the last 30 minutes.

While not being rated as highly as some of Murphy’s work, personally I enjoyed The Golden Child and found it entertaining and different to the movies around at the time, having said that it might not hold up well after 23 years.

Hellboy is an entertaining and engaging action fantasy film with stunning visuals and only a few minor flaws.

Keanu does well in a role that could have been created for him, and despite the changes from the source material Constantine is a good interpretation of the comic book with some worthwhile scenes and some surprising twists.

An excellent and compelling dual story of rebellion in Fascist Spain at the end of the second World War and a young girl’s faerie tale escapism in which you must decide to believe or not.

An amazing adaptation of an epic book that delivers an enthralling and wonderful experience, but is let down by one or two minor special effects issues.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army sets new standards in fantasy film special effects providing a visually rich and stunning experience allowing you to effortlessly believe in the images you see on screen and backs this up with a snappy and funny script and exciting action sequences.

Top notch dialog and characters lifts this otherwise simple story out of the average and into the superb with the unforgettable performances from Paul Bettany (Chaucer) and Alan Tudyk (Wat) simply providing icing on the cake.

A faithful to the book, enjoyable and decent movie let down by terrible acting by the main star and redeemed only by superb performances from those people around him.

The script is shocking, the story terrible, the acting is horrific, the editing is a nightmare, in general, avoid this movie at all costs.
