Considering the source material and what was asked of the actors, I found Resident Evil to be watchable and enjoyable despite the many flaws, in a world of horrific game-to-movie conversions Resident Evil keeps it’s head just above the sludge.

A silly and flawed movie which still manages to be reasonably entertaining, Mutant Chronicles could do with being shorter at the start, fatter in the middle and leaner at the end.

The additional footage extends and enhances what is already a genre-defining action sci-fi flick and although these days the movie looks dated it’s impossible to deny the impact it had on subsequent films, giving it a deserved place in movie history.
